Small Connections

It's funny how we all seem to make small connections along the way…

A customer from Australia recently emailed us here at Delicious Junction towers. We are always delighted to hear positive feedback about our shoes and we were even more pleased when we realized that this customer was none other than… Steve Baker.

Baker was once the lead guitarist in Squire and featured particularly in the song "Walking down the kings road", a personal favourite of mine.

Though they never quite received the recognition they deserved, Squire was one of the earliest and finest bands of the mod-revival period.

Squire was one of the best Mod acts of the late 70s, creating an impressive collection of catchy pop songs. Fronting the “Mod Revival”, their Ready To Go single was the first song of the genre and they went on to record five albums in Britain.

They moved to California in 1985 where they merged together the best of British mod with popular Californian pop – creating a unique and catchy blend.

Squire still play all over the world today and Steve remains the mod rocker he has always been, check out Steve's Scooter in these snaps …

We would like to say a big thanks to Steve for his kind comments about our shoes…
"The shoes arrived today, super quick delivery.Wonderful shoes as always, and thanks for the free mag".

Thanks to you for the great track Steve.
